A media guru, a doer, a natural born optimist, Alejandra Moran is a communications expert who over more than two decades has developed successful marketing campaigns, media relationships, community relationships, and continues to resolve corporate crises. Alejandra also serves as a media relations consultant for elected officials and political candidates on the local and state levels. Her innovative approach has helped local, national and international clients conquer significant consumers in their desired markets; no client is too small or too big for Alejandra.

A prestigious Rotary International Scholarship brought Alejandra to Drake University from her native Argentina to study Journalism at the Post Graduate level in 1990. Her career began shortly after as a reporter in the Hispanic market. Alejandra worked as the Entertainment and Tourism Editor for La Raza Newspaper, the leading Hispanic publication in the Midwest. Her ability to build a vibrant, diverse and broad social network in Chicago took her to the radio industry, joining WIND 560 AM/WOJO 105.1 FM, owned by Tichenor Media Systems, where she served as an advertising and sales executive. There she was able to practice her real love, journalism, and as a result, left the radio industry to open her business in 1996. Alejandra created Si! Communications Chicago and has been at the top of her game ever since, increasing brand awareness and market penetration.
Concurrently, while managing Si! Communications, Alejandra continued to advocate for the Hispanic population. In 1998, she joined Radio Unica, a national radio network in Spanish, to be the voice of Única a las 5 (Only @ 5 PM), a daily show about current affairs. She also hosted a weekly radio show on Sunday morning’s called Tempranísimo (Very Early Morning), focusing on Women’s issues. She has served as a weekly columnist for Javier Salas’ Radio Show “Un Nuevo Día”, on Univision Radio.
Alejandra decided it was time to apply her experience as a journalist in Chicago’s public affairs arena. In 2002, she was hired by Martin Sandoval to serve as his media relations director during his State Senate campaign. Sandoval won the election, and the State Senate increased the Latino representation from two legislators to four. In 2007, Alejandra was in charge of Latino media relations for Mayor Richard Daley reelection campaign. Furthermore, under Senate President Emil Jones, Alejandra served as Latino Media Relations Consultant to the Democratic Caucus for ten years. She also served as a Latino community relations consultant for Republican Senate Leader Christine Radogno and Republican Senate Leader Tom Cross. Alejandra currently serves as Media Relations Director of the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation.
Having developed the reputation as the “Go-To” Latina communications expert, Alejandra has been allowed to work across many industries and markets including, tourism, transportation, retail, energy, education, health, banking, entertainment, textile, and other trades. As a coalition builder, she was able to create outstanding public awareness campaigns that involved corporations, state agencies, unions, professional organizations, and media, which led to the development of successful crisis communications strategies for high profile local and national clients.
Alejandra has volunteered in organizations such as Catholic Committee for Human Development; she sits on the advisory board of Alas-Wings, a Latina association for breast cancer. She is and Animal lover, serving as spokesperson for Human Chicago.
